Why I Decided to Go Rogue

In 2016, my life fell apart and overnight, everything changed. A few days later, I was reading my bible, and I felt God say, “Are you going to trust me with all this chaos and mess?” I picked up my pen and wrote the word FAITH in my journal.

Faith Only
When the only choice is walking into the unknown, that is the moment I choose faith!

Scripture

What makes Christians different?

The fundamental fact of existence is that this trust in God, this faith, is the firm foundation under everything that makes life worth living.

It’s our handle on what we can’t see.

The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.

Hebrews 11:1-2 (The Message)

As I sat there staring at the word “Faith,” I started thinking about Hebrews chapter 11, the faith chapter.

I opened my bible and started
reading Hebrews 11 verse 1,

by faith Abel,
by faith Enoch,
by faith Noah,
by faith Abraham,
and by faith Sarah.

Then I read the final sentence of Hebrews 11:2 (The Message) it says,

“The act of faith is what distinguished our ancestors, set them above the crowd.”

The word ACT kept pulling me back, so I looked it up. I found Act defined as,

“to behave in the stated way, or to do something for a particular purpose.”

The act of faith, their behavior, how they lived out their faith, was what distinguished them and set them apart. I decided at that moment I wanted people to look at my life cheering me on in the mess, but also wonder; “how is she not a puddle on the floor?”

Then I could say, “Only God.” I thought I’m going Rogue.

I looked up the definition of rogue and found these words—

“To behave in a way that is not normal or expected.”

I picked up a pen and wrote in my journal #goROGUE

My life might be falling apart, but God was still in control and had a plan. I was going to trust Him and #goRogue…seven years later?

I’m still at it.
