I spent the month of June hibernating from social media and my phone. During the month, I rested and finished a project that God has been asking me to complete. I made a promise to God in 2013 that I would always be transparent with my life. If He could use any circumstance from my life to encourage others, I was willing. God challenged me to take the journey, Bill, and I have been on for the last five years and write a book. I struggled with this challenge on so many levels, but I knew it was time to be obedient and get it done.
The rough draft of my manuscript was completed by week three. I experienced healing from putting the words on paper and reading how God has walked the journey with me. I didn’t expect this, so I asked God if this was His purpose for the task. He immediately told me no, I needed to send the manuscript to several friends and then submit it to a publisher. It was easy to send it to friends, not so easy to push send on the publisher's submission.
God had a plan. I had been introduced via social media to Athena four years ago by a friend. We talked briefly then about me writing a book, but it was the wrong topic and time. I decided now was the time to submit my manuscript to her and see what would happen.
I am excited to announce that on June 30th, I signed a contract with Redemption Press. Finding Joy in My Messy Life, written by Carole Leathem, will be available in March 2021. I love every minute of this new journey. I have a writing coach who helped me through the rewriting process and a whole team of editors and marketing specialists guiding me.
This has created a God-sized need and a bold ask. Will you pray for me, and then if you feel led, become a cheerleader and help me financially in this process? If you feel led, click the Find out more button below and visit the page Redemption Press has set up for me on their website.
